Cultural Warrant
The idea of a cultural warrant was developed by Joel Lee in 1976 based on the realization that people from different cultures and backgrounds may have different methods of thinking about and seeking out information. Cultural warrants can embellish literary warrants towards “local forms of knowledge organization” in such a way as to avoid “unequal treatment of people due to their religion, race or personal condition.”
